The Sprint Center is a large multi-purpose indoor arena in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The building is located on the east side of the Power and Light district at the 14th Street and Grand Boulevard and is City-government owned. The ground breaking ceremony for the arena was done on June 24, 2005, and the construction of the entire building was completed on October 11, 2007.
The Sprint Center boasts of a world class concert arena with a sitting capacity of 19,252. Also included are basketball, hockey and football arena with over 17,000 sitting capacity each. Its exterior is made of glass making it more appealing to the eyes as you draw closer. The center’s interior is extremely and perfectly designed with a modern state-of-art technology, offering 360-degree large LED video screens.
Its 360-degree glass facade offers an ever-changing tapestry that produces a reflective light. The arena is naturally transparent giving outsiders a peek into the arena while it offers the spectators a clear view of the Kansas City skyline.
Another notable feature of the Center that makes it more appealing is that it’s fitted with a high-quality sound system that is loud enough to reach everyone during live concerts. The arena is pretty steep in the middle, providing a clear view of the stage during a performance. It is also fitted with a free public Wi-Fi, hence viewers can easily access the internet to upload photos and videos taken from concerts inside the arena.
Due to the high numbers of individuals attending concerts inside the arena, the designers set aside an ample parking ground that can accommodate a high number of vehicles.
